Six weeks of Lent come to a high point during Holy Week. Join us all week long as we remember this most sacred time in the life of Jesus Christ.
March 29 – Palm Sunday
Celebrate with us the triumphant entry into Jerusalem of Jesus Christ, as he begins his journey to the cross culminating on Good Friday. Both services, at 8:30 in the Chapel and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary, will include the sacrament of Holy Communion. SHPC’s kids will sing at 11:00.
April 2 – Maundy Thursday
This powerful evening worship service will center around Gabriel Fauré’s choral masterpiece, Requiem, sung by the Chancel Choir with guest soloists and instruments. Following 5:00 p.m. supper in Davis Family Hall, we gather at 6:00 in the Sanctuary for worship and holy communion. Childcare available for kids first grade and younger. The service will also be livestreamed.
April 3 – Good Friday
Jesus’ journey to the cross ends today. Join us at noon in the Sanctuary – now stripped bare of liturgical finery, save for the cross adorned with a crown of thorns – for midday worship. The service will also be available via livestream. Lunch available in Davis Family Hall following worship.
April 4 – Easter Egg Hunt
Bring your kids to join in the fun and excitement at Overton Park in Homewood for SHPC’s Easter Egg Hunt! The hunt begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Bring your own picnic lunch and stay for fellowship with your South Highland family. Get directions and more info here.
April 5 – Easter Sunday
“He is risen! He is risen, indeed!” Easter Sunday includes some of our most favorite hymns and celebratory music, including the “Hallelujah Chorus,” as Christ’s resurrection is celebrated. This year, we have added a Sunrise Service in the Courtyard starting at 6:30 a.m. Both of our traditional services this Sunday will be in the Sanctuary, with the 11:00 service available by live stream.
