Habitat for Humanity

South Highland has served Habitat for Humanity for over 25 years. Teams of SHPC volunteers join the crew to build affordable housing for low-income families. Please read the details on this year’s project. If you have further questions, contact Don Koch.

Info on the Fall 2023 Build

This year’s Habitat build is for Karla Tolbert and her son, Karter, in Pleasant Grove at 923 13th Ave. Circle B. (see map below). You can meet the family here.

Volunteers must register online for shifts on the Habitat website. Click here for Habitat’s Volunteer page, then click Volunteer Calendar, select the option for the Presbytery Build. The access code is presby22. Create a volunteer login account and follow the directions.

The lot is fairly level and in a cul-de-sac, with parking available on nearby streets. Habitat will provide bottled water and a portable toilet. Volunteers provide their own lunches; there aren’t any restaurants close by, so you may consider bringing your own. Habitat will provide tools, hard hats and safety glasses, but you can bring your own if you wish. Also, since splinters don’t feel very good, be sure to bring work gloves. Wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes. And, wear clothes you don’t mind being “decorated” by paint or foam sealer.
