South Highland has served Habitat for Humanity for over 25 years. Teams of SHPC volunteers join the crew to build affordable housing for low-income families. Please read the details on this year’s project. If you have further questions, contact Don Koch.
Info on the Fall 2022 Build
This year’s Habitat build is for Tonnesha Banks and her family, in the East Lake community at 873 77th Street South (see map below).
Volunteers must register online for shifts on September 8, 9 and 10. Click here for Habitat’s Volunteer page, then click Volunteer Calendar and scroll to September 8, 9 and/or 10. Select your date and select the option for the Presbytery Build. The access code is presby22. Create a volunteer login account and follow the directions.
The lot is sloping, but not too steep. Habitat will provide bottled water and a portable toilet. Volunteers provide their own lunches. Habitat will provide tools, hard hats and safety glasses, but you can bring your own if you wish. Also, since splinters don’t feel very good, be sure to bring work gloves. Wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes. And, wear clothes you don’t mind being “decorated” by paint or foam sealer.
