Meet Kenny Lewis

South Highland welcomes Kenny Lewis as our new Director of Music Ministry. Kenny comes to us from Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Anniston, where he has served as the choir master since 2019. He has served as organist, pianist and choir director in several other central Alabama churches since 2004.

Kenny has been around SHPC for a while, but may be unfamiliar to most. In addition to being an accomplished church musician, he also has a pipe organ restoration practice and did the work of restoring SHPC’s Möller sanctuary organ last year. That project included the installation of new technology which will enable him to conduct the choir and playback his recording of the organ accompaniment simultaneously. This is how he led the worship music at Saint Michael. Kenny performed at our organ dedication concert last fall along with Dr. Jim Dorroh.

Kenny will serve in multiple roles at South Highland, as Director of Music Ministry, Organist and Handbell Director. Kenny earned degrees in organ performance and church music from Birmingham Southern College and Samford University. He lives in Moody with his wife Melissa and son Nathaniel.
