Meet Kenny Lewis

Kenny Lewis joined South Highland as Director of Music Ministries in 2022. Kenny comes to us from Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Anniston, where he served as the choir master since 2019. He previously served as organist, pianist and choir director in several other central Alabama churches since 2004.

Kenny has been around SHPC for a while but was working behind the scenes. In addition to being an accomplished church musician, he also has a pipe organ restoration practice and did the work of restoring SHPC’s Möller sanctuary organ in 2021. That project included the installation of new technology which, among other things, enables him to prerecord organ music as necessary for seamless playback in various settings. At the conclusion of the organ restoration project, Kenny performed at the organ dedication concert along with our organist at the time, Dr. Jim Dorroh.

Kenny serves in multiple roles at South Highland, as Director of Music Ministries, Organist and Handbell Director. Kenny earned degrees in organ performance and church music from Birmingham Southern College and Samford University. He lives in Moody with his wife Melissa and son Nathaniel.
