Make plans to join SHPC for a full day trip to Montgomery to see the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice on Thursday, April 18 or Saturday, April 20. Because South Highlanders were so moved by the experience on prior years’ trips, we are offering the opportunity again. The Legacy Museum is an indoor, self-guided, comprehensive collection of the legacy of enslavement through contemporary issues of mass incarceration. The National Memorial is an outdoor memorial where visitors walk a path through our history of racial injustice. We will carpool so you don’t have to drive, and lunch is available at museum restaurant. Please email Heidi Messier for information and reservations at HandSmessier@gmail.com.
