Sunday Worship

We gather for corporate worship every Sunday morning. Our worship style is traditional yet relaxed. We worship God by praying together, reading the Bible, singing hymns, listening to a sermon based on Scripture, and celebrating the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Worship Services: 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The 11 a.m. service is also livestreamed. Come and enjoy a time of fellowship with other men from South Highland. This group meets weekly at Arby’s in Homewood. Come and share prayers of praise, thanksgiving and requests for God’s guidance and intervention – oh, and a delicious breakfast!

Let’s Walk: Mountain Brook

Put on your walking shoes for an easy hike around Mountain Brook Saturday, June 1. We’ll meet at Mountain Brook Elementary at 9 a.m. – go to the athletic fields at 2400 Heathermoor Road at Cahaba Road. The route will start with the Watkins Trace Trail (.5 mile, dirt, slight slope) and meet up with the paved Jemison Park Greenway, for a total of about three shaded miles. Jim Dorroh Concert Memorial

On Saturday, June 1, South Highland will host an organ concert and choral service of remembrance for our dear friend, Dr. Jim Dorroh, who died May 19 after a brief battle with cancer. The organ concert, featuring accomplished organists who were colleagues and students of Dr. Jim, will begin at 1:30 p.m., with the service following around 2:00.
